We have got used to being fleeced in the UK for consumer goods generally but there now appears to be not much difference in the pricing of harps at least between the States and the UK.
Here is a random list of a few harps (mainly Hohner) plus a lee Oskar.

I have compared prices with my local music store (in the main) which surprisingly fares pretty well when compared to other UK outlets. and Rockin Rons which I have noted on Forum Discussions is highly favoured. I have shown the prices in both cases in US dollars without delivery.
If we could walk in the store and buy a harp then there is not a big difference, however if we were to order online for delivery by mail there is a huge difference as Rockin Rons offers free delivery whereas in the UK we would have to add on between 4.8 and 6 dollars to the price of the harps in the table above for delivery of a single harp!!
Any observations? What’s it like in other countries?

Mmm, about the same in Oz, but buy online, the shops just don't get it, 3 harps from Rons is cheaper in Oz, ...stupid retailers want 48-55 for a sp20 in E, stuff like that, so i just gave up buying from my usual retailer here.

I buy my harps from Dane Clark of Mandoharp in Oz. Danes prices are comparable to the UK & US prices. Mandoharp is an Oz online store. I like to deal local & the service is excellent. I would not buy from a retail store as few, if any, carry any reasonable stock. ---------- HARPOLDIE’S YOUTUBE

Mm...I don't really agree about Australian prices being 'comparable', unless you consider +25% is a fair comparison. I didn't check the full price list, just the hohners. Only the mbdeluxe is reasonably close, at $67 per. All the standard MS and Sp20, GM, 1896 are around $50. Cheaper than the b&m stores, but not by enough to induce me to give up relationships with locals. That's AUD, so a little cheaper in USD I guess. Retail brick and mortar stores are asking $55 for a Sp20. I don't buy many these days. Ron Hobdy Rocks. I have done some really pleasing deals with him.

@SuperBee .If one takes into consideration shipping costs & buying only 1 or 2 harps then the Oz online prices are comparable. Plus there is always the support of a local to fall back on if needed.
A quick scan revealed the following prices here converted to US $'s. Hohner Golden Melody $52 Hohner MBs & SP20's $55 Hohner Crossover $87 Hohner Thunderbird $122 Suzuki Manji $79
Certainly things will one day change as there has to be a day of reckoning. It appears inevitable that one day the US will default and the impact will be catastrophic for all manufacturers who probably rely on the US for most of the consumption of their products. One thing is certain it isn't going to get any cheaper.
