A huge thanks to everyone that made it to the Blues Harp Clinic today. We had an outstanding time and the jam band was off the charts good. I hope everyone can make it next time.

I had a good time.
So did my friends Karen and Anthony.

It helped that the jam band was more interested in jamming than performing. The leader even let me steal a song. He was singing one tune and he let me change it to another tune with the same grove and chords. Maybe instead of "stealing the song" I should call it "instant medley" ?

My student Anthony played for the first time in public. The guys were supportive and hooping and hollering as he played. Anthony played "Easy" and he learned an important lesson. When you call out slow shuffle, you need to count it out or you may get it too slow. From the seats I hollered out "about 70bpm" but 1)no one was listening to me cause I was sitting down, 2)the average jammer doesn't know what 70bpm is. He got 55bpm

After the tune the guitar player had some advice, "when you play for the first time in public, it's best to wear black pants in case you piss all over yourself. The wet spot wont show up". I added, "I think he came prepared, look, he's wearing brown pants in case he sh*t"

Jim and KC, thanks again for supporting the jam. Jim, I think you said you had the most fun at this one, me too. We will do another one in the Spring of 14.

@Iceman, Hal wasn't able to make it. He called last minute and I could tell it was killing him not to make it down. Next time!

Jim and KC, it was a good time. I'm really glad I was able to get the line up we had for the jam band, those guys are all top notch players.

Ya,I've been wanting to make this the last couple of times,but I always seem to have a scheduling conflict. Any firm date for Spring 2014?Lonesome: I believe I met you at the motel in Holly Springs for HCH3. I know I met several guys from Columbus.

Jim R.- How about "creative recycling"?

@Tuckster

"creative recycling" is a phrase I can steal without guilt.

Dan and I have set March 29,2014 as the tentative date. I hope that works for everyone, if not make your case for a change.

Lonesome

I went to the VA Festival last year and 3 years ago.
Va is the March 27 weekend.
I wanted the option to attend both Va & Cowtown, so I was hoping for Cowtown on March 22, 2014
