So Aki and guitar player Kid Andersen put on a benefit for Finis Tasby recently at my "blues home" - Cub Fox theatre in Redwood City, CA. The musician turnout was PHENOMENAL. Harp players included Kim Wilson, Rick Estrin, Mark Hummel, James Harmon, Kyle Rowland and Aki. The guitar players were equally notable including Elvin Bishop.
The last tune of the eve included Aki and Kim on stage. That's Kid Andersen on the right on guitar, with Mike Phillips on bass and June Core on drums behind him. Mike and June are part of Charlie Musselwhite's band (Charlie was out of town in Brazil.) Over on the left was Sid Morris - great keyboard player - and the other guitar player is Angelo Rossi - who used to play with the band Pablo Cruise - he won a raffle prize to sit in with these guys. Nice first position work by Aki and Kim.

Great video. Thanks for putting that up. Who is the third harp player, tall guy in double breasted suit? Didn't recognize him

Sorry - that's Kyle Rowland. One of the rising star "kids" of harmonica. Kyle is from the Sacramento area and has a CD out.

Thanks Greg. With regard to Adam's post on best harp player and cutting, and the stage factor, this video makes that point. While the other 2 harp players are great, and seem to play close to technically as close (aside from an edge on tone for Kim), something about the way the old man takes control of his solo, not too complex, just takes command of it... that is really fun to watch.

Great video!! Aki and Kim is just pure class. I also enjoyed Kyle Rowlands playing. Actually never heard of the guy here in Norway. Great playing but I think he's trying to hard to act like Rick Estrin on the stage..

Kyle lives in Sacramento. I was told that he has been taking lessons from Rick Estrin.
