That instrumental easily has to be one of the most perfect songs ever created to be played on the harmonica...Thanks Tom for showcasing those harp giants playing it :)

It was great, magical!

And Dennis Gruenling dropping in was a complete surprise.

That was an awesome jam between those two guys. I was fortunate enough to be in the front row, right in front of Richard, during the seminar and jam. Dennis' ideas on that version of Easy sure were beyond anything that would have occurred to me to play - great stuff!

Ah man. Both guys, but especially Dennis. What great tone.
And I now understand what grooving and taking your time is. Had to fight tears on this one. It's so.. well, easy. But transcendental at the same time. Ahh. Amazing.

There was me thinking I was going to be treated to some Lionel Ritchie based noodlings...

Still. Very nice stuff.

I also missed this!

I wonder how much else I missed due to choosing different sessions or occasionally having to catch up on missed sleep...

Thanks for recording and posting!

Very nice and very relaxed. Inventive. And--last but not least--an overblow from Dennis at 1:47. He has crossed over to the dark side.

Adam! Bluesscholar you! There is a youtube vid of Dennis Grünling, with this comment underneath it :)

"KudzuRunner for 5 years

Love the overblows on 5 and 6!? Great stuff."

It's the one where he demonstrates the Harp Gear 2. Internet man, it's a haunting place, hihi.

If he crossed, he did so a long time ago. Such a pitty that he isn't on this board btw. What a player!

You're welcome... Almost didn't happen. My son and I decided at the last minute to attend Richard Sleigh's class and were surprised (and delighted) when he announced that Dennis Gruenling was going to join the class.

We had met Richard in Indianapolis at the Harmonica Collective... but had never met Dennis. I can't express enough how generous both these men are with their time and advice. Their encouragement (and patience) with my son were a highlight of the trip.

We were able to catch Dennis and Doug Deming at 2 local shows since SPAH and I have to say that he is a joy to watch.

There are some other jewels in that video collection... The performances of Joe Filisko/Eric Noden and Steve Baker were outstanding.

I don't think so... I'm a big goofy looking guy with a camera plastered to my face most of the time. (Taking pictures of my bean pole son's musical adventures)
