I can't see (hear) why anyone would need anything more than this. It sounds great. The gear quest sure has a lot more options than we used to.

Thanks! The delay is set up to NOT color the tone, just add delay. It took all of 5 minutes to set things up. Very easy for anyone who has every used an amp before.

This rig was set very loud and I was sitting behind the iPad with no feedback, etc. I generally don't use a bullet mic, so I had to tweak some knobs, but like I said, very efficient.

This his rig, see below {if you go to Youtube to view it he has it posted. I LOVE the Sansamp Blond pedal myself, after trying a lot of amp simulator pedals, it's the best thing I've found. Quite tweakable tonally to get a sweet tone for harp or electric guitar.

Shure 520D microphone and Mantra Custom Marine Band in A into a Tech 21 Blonde then to a Line6 M5 with a tape echo dry thru, and then a QSC K10

Mike, it sounds awesome.

And the Blonde pedal is analog, right? Not a digital modeler...

Mike, didn't you used to use a SansAmp Para Driver DI pedal? How's it compare to the Blonde?

It's analog, but the delay is digital.

I've tried several Tech21 pedals with good to stellar results. I've also tried digital options from Digitech, Zoom, and Line6 for "amped" needs.

The Blonde is by far the most harp friendly and easiest to use. I typically set that pretty clean and use a HarpBreak as an OD pedal. I then use an SM58. I tried using the bullet with effects, but it sounds horrible.

So, the Shure 520D mic is plugged directly into the Blonde pedal?

No...my wireless. I would say the perceivable difference in tone from not going wireless would be impossible to detect as you can easily adjust eq.

So it was Mic > Wireless > Blonde > M5 > K10

Ya, the wireless should be transparent. The rig is impressive. I find myself browsing ads for the Blonde pedal....

Regarding the K10, it has a high or high mid cut that isn't very neutral. I put a piece of tape over the tweeter to act as a cheap beam blocker...don't know if it is really working or not.

When using the Blonde, I might get a bit more cut thatn with other speakers. That's the trick with PA rigs...the monitor can surely color the tone!

i,m not one hundred percent convinced on the tone
yes it does sound good,however:
i have been experimenting with pedals
i posted a track with the butler overdrive
and one with the rat pedal.
while i felt it sounded pretty good,
at the end of the day, i can get a better sound without using them.
just putting a mic in front of my champ
is very very easy, and is the gold standard
for tone, at least in my book.

i have a solid state amp i use all the time
it sounds really really good.
90 percent of the audience haven't any clue
but most of us here are pretty particular
when it comes to our sound. and if you listen to my solid state amp on first impression, its easy to think, great sound
but once again, under closer scrutiny, you can hear somewhat harsh overtones.
i guess what i am trying to say is this,
there is a difference between a really really good sound.
and a really great sound.

i would like to hear that rig
with perhaps a backing track if that is possible
see how it sits in the mix

I'll see what I can do. I think it is important to note that this pedal is designed for this sort of application and is widely respected by guitar players.

It is not a distortion pedal used directly. I have had no issues with stage use, but I also don't expect my monitor to cover FOH sound. If I can hear it on stage, I would fully expect a sound engineer to adjust the sound at the board to sit in the mix well.
