There are quite a few Denver harp players who are members of this forum. And there have been other members who have passed through Denver and visited the jam. I invite all of you to one of the most harp-friendly blues jams you are likely to find anywhere. Tonight I'll have the Mission Delta Sonic amp for players to try. Or, bring your own amp if you prefer. It is always fun to compare amps.

Most of the regular players at the jam know how to back up a harp player. You won't get blasted out by a guitar hero wannabe or a hard-crackin' drummer since I moderate the jam and try to keep order. I've been doing it for four years.

All players are welcome. Ginny is a regular who is 78 years old and took up the harp a couple years ago. We all love her enthusiasm. Nic Clark is also a regular. So is Dan Treanor. Occasionally Al Chesis or Ronnie Shellist will drop in and play, but they are usually gigging on Sunday nights. Gregg MacKenzie is excellent. Also Chris Winter, Dex Lane, Lee Tibbets, Kim Leonard, Scott Woerner, Andrew Tauchen and several others. Harp players get respect at this jam. You are all invited.

After the jam Nic was noodling with the Delta Sonic amp. He's playing a vintage JT-30 with ceramic element.

loved that jam Rick...Nick nailed those "comping rhythms" and dove into to his solos with precision - everyone was playing great on that groove :)

Holy shit that was freakin' awesome. And what a way to run a Jam...evrybody watching each other for cues ,no prima Donnas and even the Bass and Drums did great solos.Talk about groovin'
I'd like to make this compulsory viewing for our jam attendees..in fact I'll see if i can get it up on our Blues Club website.
