Hey guys. Sorry if I've asked this already but I can't find the post.
Can anyone recommend a good amp tech in NYC or on Long Island? Like, someone who knows how to mod an amp for harp as opposed to a guitar amp tech?
I appreciate your help. Thanks.

Well Pauly22 I know one in Rhode Island. That's not to far. Do you ever venture this way?

Mark is not an amp tech, I know him well. He is a helluva harp player and vocalist. Here's Mark in action playing the amp I just bought from him.

I know Mark well too-the OP was asking for harp mods, not a tech.
Case in point-Mark drove up and I met him in Mt Kisco-he purchased a Dano TV front 15 amp from me,which I purchased from Sonny Jr-I thought it sounded ok,but was lacking power. He got it home, and with some simple tube swaps, had that thing crankin like I never could get it to.

No he asked for an amp tech that knows how to mod amps for harp. Anyone can swap tubes.
The amp techs I know don't consider tube swaps modifications because its the design of the amp to allow tube changes and you don't need an amp tech to do.

I'd suggest asking over on Harp L. I'm pretty sure quite a few of the NYC area players frequent that list and could suggest some good harp amp techs. Or if you're handy with a soldering iron you could always ask guys like Mark Burness for some ideas on the best harp mods for your amp.

I talked to Mark last night. I know he has two amp techs that he uses. I'm sure he would be willing to recommend one. It's not cool to post someone's personal email address without permission for everyone to use and abuse.

I got Marks e-mail address from his website-
http://markgrandfield.com/
It's public domain-if someone abuses it from this forum, thers is not much I can do about it-just trying to be helpful.
I will talk to Mark just to make sure it's ok.

I apologize, I didn't know his newest email was public.
I recommend everyone check out his blues and jazz on his facebook or myspace page. Amazing soulful vocals, and great blues harp.
