Not a fan. Terribly "overwrought" IMHO.

Music is your own experience, your own thoughts, your wisdom. If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn. They teach you there's a boundary line to music. But, man, there's no boundary line to art. - Charlie Parker

My buddy at work is a Guitar-Guy who's totally into blues. We talk about guys like Clapton, Vaughn, & Bonamassa a lot (along with general music theory). I think he's really good hopefully I can catch him when he comes to town in the next few months.

He came to play at my school once. When he played rocking blues, it was definitely exciting; but most of his songs were really slow and too lyrical. I ended up leaving the show early just because he stopped playing blues and he kept talking about how he is #1 or topped the charts or something..

@geordie
I got the cd for Christmas and I love his voice; that is my favorite track on the cd and I just searched for it on youtube.
It's a really good cd to jam along with the harp, which is sadly missing.
It must be cold up there, my neighbour broke his arm falling on the ice yesterday, no snow yet in Bristol.

I would never classify Bonamassa as "Blues". To me it's more American Rock.

Personally I find his music utter drivel. To me it's cluttered, overly distorted and full of self indulgent solos to the point of nausea.

I'm sure there are many who find this type of music simply wonderful. But it ain't for me.

@ Kingly – exactly what I meant by "overwrought".

It's rock in the blues vein. I like Joe as well. In this day and age of minimalist guitar being the norm, I like it. Self-indulgent? Sure, sometimes. But it's refreshing to see him in American 'mainstream' music, considering all the overproduced, suit-and-tie driven corporate garbage that gets shoved down the public's throat.
