Yes Randy is still in business. Have you tried emailing him? There might be a problem with the phone line. He may be away on holiday or just busy working. He has a full time job he does as well as run the Lone Wolf business. You could also leave a message for him over on the Lone Wolf Harp Forum.

i was shock to see my pedal arrived on friday i had a gig on saturday. we played outside at the whole foods market the plan was to use it with my bassman when i arrived the band was playing the first set they were not playing too loudly. so i grabbed my solid state amp and the lone wolf pedal instead. first of all, that amp sounds great by itself. with the harp octave... mighty impressive the pedal is very subtle, i like that about it. i did not expect a solid state device plugged into a solid state amp to sound very musical. i was pleasantly surprised. the fact that they were able to get that to me so quickly deserves a shout out. ---------- master po

I use a Harp Break into a QSC K10 all the time and never have tone issues. Great pedal! I'll have a few high quality YouTubes up in the following weeks with examples. ---------- Mantra Customized Harmonicas My Website

Lone wolf pedals are simply great. I have several, the last one being the reverb which is an excellent pedal. Randy is very responsive and prompt. You must have got him on vacation. He and his wife are professionals and their customer service is outstanding. Glad you got your pedal.

This may be a question for a different thread but can someone explain the difference between the Harp break, harp attack and the harp tone+? Also, if you were to plug directly into a Pa using a sure 545 which would work best?
thanks! 7.o.3.

7.0.3 - The Harp Attack is a valve powered pedal. It simulates the sound of an amp. The Harp Break is a Solid State powered pedal and can simulate and amped similar to the Harp Attack. Although it's primary use lately seems to be people using it as an overdrive pedal in front of an amp. The Harp Tone+ is something I don't know much about at all. Both the Harp Attack and Harp Break would sound great with a 545 into a PA.

Thanks Kingley! I recently picked up a Lone wolf harp delay (V1) and am really satisfied. Currently I'm working my way towards a blues jam and don't want to have to worry about bringing an amp and all that. The jam I've been observing has a really small stage and being new don't want to take to much time setting up and worrying about all that gear.

The Harp Tone+ is a clean preamp tuned for harp.
I find putting it in front of unmodded guitar amps gives me more control over treble, bass and gain structure than I can get with the amp's controls alone. You can certainly get that control running it into a PA, too, but it won't add any distortion or overdrive to your sound.

Right on, timeistight...if I had to bring one pedal to sit in with someone, it'd be that. The Tech 21 Blonde is a good pick too, but would be unnecessary...give me a clean mic and the HT and I can eq my own PA sound.
It also is GREAT infront of amps that aren't harp friendly. ---------- Mantra Customized Harmonicas My Website

sounds like any of the three would work in a pinch/low gear situation?

Sure. Of course in a real low gear situation you can run a 545 straight to the PA. Sometimes that sounds great.

They'd work, but I'd just play straight in if need be...but I do find there to be a part of the dynamic range that sounds too hi-fi and sterile unless you eq out all the treble.
The HT especially gives you a warm clean sound that gives you more control over the highs and keeps things sounding more analog/organic, or whatever the opposite of sterile is. ---------- Mantra Customized Harmonicas My Website

Lone Wolf is a model company, and Randy is very responsive. I wish all the companies I do business with were like Lone Wolf. Randy's latest effort, the reverb pedal, is the most usable reverb I've ever used. A must have pedal.

Sounds great every time in my experience. Most of the time I just use either a 545 or an SM57 direct into the PA. I like that sound a lot.

Yep, I can't fault Lone Wolf. Reasonably priced, good service, products that are well-built, with appropriate R&D, and generally realistically promoted without hype. I've been happy with the Delay V1 since day 1. Likewise the Octave pedal. The Break is perhaps the most widely-lauded effect pedal for harmonica. I've heard good reports of the Reverb pedal. Tone + seems likely very useful. The Flat Cat is one I have not heard anyone mention since its initial promotion. Anybody using this? ----------

So, when a guy like me, from eastern europe, with very low budget wants to buy just one LW pedal (and to use it with solid state amp, or PA...) to improve his sound (with some harp distortion), what would you recommend: Harp Attack, Harp Break, Harp Octave or Harp Tone+?

Rarko Harp break Runs on 9V and no valve or 18V to worry about as in the Attack But both are excellent pedals for imput into a SS amp

HarpBreak!!!
I don't have the Attack, but have the other three. The HB is super easy to use and you can power it very easily. You can also turn it off and on silently.
I am hoping to do some really good quality vids this weekend. I had an issue with syncing the webcam and mixer, but I am a go now! ---------- Mantra Customized Harmonicas My Website

Hey Moderator, I think the name of this thread needs to be changed to Just Lone Wolf Pedals. It is not fair to have this title, since Randy is not out of business, and everyone has good things to say about him, for good reasons. There have been a lot of shakey operators that have dissapeared, but Randy of Lone Wolf is not one of them.
I am not speaking for Lone Wolf, but just as a Harmonica Customizer, and a Friend of Randy . ----------

Kingley no, it's not PA, it's amp. Also not perfect tone quality. Here's Harp Attack to PA when I start soloing over loop (around 1:48). Unfortunately, tone is far from being perfect too, possible because of PA settings (a bit too harsh).
