Done in complete haste...better one to come...
I don't have either vid listed. I'd like to delete them yet this week and post ones with better audio (namely the vocal mix). Would anyone be willing to tell me if they are one channel mono, or if you can here them through both sides???
If I can figure that out, I can use a second mic set hotter for vocals...I also mounted a webcam to a boom stand for getting a better shot. I pretty much just play the same boogie thing on all my gear vids because it covers most blues-type sounds. Any other types of riffage I should include?
If the audio can be centered instead of to one side, I think I got a really easy to use rig to to decent vids now. Thanks! ---------- Mantra Customized Harmonicas My Website

There is only sound in left channel. Have you recorded this direct in to the recording gear?
I believe you have to get yourself some type of mixer. A analog or digital. A analog 4-channel mixer is handy and you could use it on gigs too.
The second clip just blink,,,, and then it's over. ?

I am using a USB mixer that has two channels. The problem has to be with the laptop and a setting I either can't get to through the webcam or is buried in a sound menu.
I'll work on it tonight maybe. The second vid I'll just delete. It had the same left channel issue, although it was an HD camera and walk through of the Tech 21. It must have uploaded incorrectly.
At any rate, the first vid gives an idea of those pedals to the PA. I will delete it as soon as I get a proper one done - which would be very soon if I could get the sound issue fixed.
I lucked out as the external webcam I bought fits perfectly onto a mic stand clip, hence the better angle on the screen shot of video two.
Since the Blackjack has two inputs, I can use a different vocal mic so it is easier to here me - check
I have a camera on a boom stand so I can show the pedals - check
I can record everything at once - check
All I have to figure out is going mono and how to get rid of some of the extra noise. I have no idea what's causing that as that preamp/mixer is dead silent when I record into Audacity. ---------- Mantra Customized Harmonicas My Website

LOL! Mike, yer killin me here.
I like the sound of both pedals very much. Sometimes elaborate pedal boards make the harp sound too compressed and processed, but lately I've been hearing really good stuff from simpler setups.
Do you have the LW Octave pedal? What are your thoughts on it? I think the tone from the Blonde pedal is lush. Purists will say none of it sounds like a vintage Super Bassboy TubeMonster amp, but that is a different topic.
Thanks mucho for making the video. I would have responded a lot sooner but I'm on the road in Wyoming. On the whole, I'd rather be in Minnesota.

The Blonde can do anything, which I illustrated in the other non-working vid (argh). I also play most of that vid rather than explain.
Clean to modern rock - no problem.
The HB is huge for me too. I use it as an overdrive. it also sounds super awesome straight to PA and is VERY easy to use for blues tones. You can't get the same cleans from it, but with a bullet it sounds fantastic!
The Harp Octave sounds a bit like the HB, but it doesn't have the same level of crunch or the bass boost. It sorta amplifies whatever dirt you have going giving it more cut. To my ears, it sounds less organic straight to PA and more like an effect than amp. ---------- Mantra Customized Harmonicas My Website

FWIW...
I stopped using the Flat Cat on my main board short term. Randy modded the orginal design to be more transparent and I need to send it in to get tweaked to be like the ones he currently sales.
However, it is a good transparent boost (and comp) to slam the HB with a hot signal to distort. I found turning up the gain on the wireless worked just as well and the Blonde had the speaker compression (which I pretty much leave off).
The FC with a bullet and HB is something I do all the time, though. I wouldn't use my bullet with the rig in the vid as it would sound awful and feed back.
The HB/FC combo with a harp mic, though, sounds glorious! ---------- Mantra Customized Harmonicas My Website
