A truly masterful performance.
I only wish you had played it straight the first time through. I know Howard Levy has changed his arrangement over the years, but I still find the one done in a church (in New York I think?) one of his most beautiful performances. He started that one fairly straight(some flourishes of course). It made the rest of what he did with it so much more spectacular.
I would like my cake to have SOME cake and not all frosting (although my kids might argue that point).
Please don't misunderstand what I am saying. That was a hell of a performance doing things that I may never even aspire to do. My personal preference would be to hear the unadorned melody first- then hear your masterful variations. I think, even at a harmonica event, that strong, beautiful, clear melody still grabs attention.
My 2 cents as a music listener.

Thanks everyone. It was the encore of my performance so it was okay to play something more technical after playing 3 original pieces from my CD. Some playing was cut off at the beginning...so the beginning of the piece was a little bit different.
