Todd Slobin asked me to post this notice about the Kickstarter Campaign they've launched to help with the national/global release of the film on November 5, 2013. Here's the Kickstarter link he provided:

Let's hope this goes really well. Here's a quote about how the Kickstarter money will be used:
"The funds raised will allow us to 1) design, package and press DVDs; 2) hire marketing, publicity and social media specialists to increase exposure on a global level; 3) update the PFOS website to enhance the user experience and establish greater overall presence; 4) add unique, interactive screenings at theaters around the world. These screenings will include guest appearances, performances, Q&As, harmonica lessons and/or other money-can't-buy experiences."
Maybe then we'll be able to finally get those DVD's we've been thinking about for oh so long.

I pledged!
I think, though, with most of this project, they are missing the mark. Kickstarter is great IF your core audience is net savvy, aware of KS, and willing to spend money online - and not even through PayPal.
For me, a no brainer, but I bet the VAST majority of people interested in this are baby boomers at the youngest and not so hip with the concept....or even online to see this.
I NEVER would have come across it save this post.

Sure looks to me like they're not gonna make it. I don't want to be a nay sayer, but it don't look real good right now.

A lot of these come down to the wire. I have no idea the trend on bigger projects like this, but I've seen a few people hover around 50% until the last minute.

I sure hope that's what happens here, Mike, and that they meet their goal all the way. Then finally, we'll be able to look forward to seeing the film in short order. I know it would be an immense disappointment to the producers as well as to us viewing audience folks if it didn't make it.
Any other forum members ready to jump on board?

I saw the film in Seattle (with Lee Oskar in the audience). It was terrific - very interesting and well produced. I gave $35 and hope others will do what they can to make this work.

A $5 donation would cost me $15 with the ridiculous "shipping" charge.
What does it cost to ship "A personal thank you on your facebook page and our facebook page and a PFOS Desktop Wallpaper Graphic"? Clearly, they don't want my money.
