He's got a strong sound. I'm interested by the way in which he alters the groove of the original to make it an midtempo shuffle--except when he's playing the original groove. So you might say a) that he's mixing or alternating two very different grooves; or b) that he's not grooving at all. He also doesn't begin to play 12 bars. He adds a beat here and there, at whim. That's solo country blues playing. The key thing is to be able to come up with a version of the song that convinces your hometown audience, whoever they are, that you're capable of playing something that reminds them of the popular recording. That's how you make money. What he's NOT doing is recreating the original harp part note for note, in strict time. He's freely interpreting it, even while making clear that he's quite familiar with the original.
