Don't know who the harp player is. Vassar Clements on fiddle.

This is the Nitty Gritty Dirt band with Vassar and Taj. Jimmie Fadden on harp. Love these guys... all of them.

That's Jimmy Fadden. His playing on the "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" albums was a big influence for me.

I used to sit in on a local Bluegrass jam on guitar, some dobro and harp. Listening to the "Circle" albums was really helpful for getting ideas for harp. Jimmy mostly plays 2nd position in a bluesy style which works well for the old timey bluegrass stuff. Most other bluegrass harp players play fast fiddle style tunes (like Mike Stevens) which I personally just cant pull off. The guys at the jam seemed to like what I played, I should start sitting in again, it was fun. I should dust off those albums and start "borrowing" again. :)

This post is SO cool for a few reason. First because my dad has been working up a version of the Fishin' Blues on guitar that I have been itching to add a harp part to, and secondly because Scoltx has mentioned that he plays dobro which is something I have just started working on myself. Excellent stuff!
