Like almost every guitar player, I've always found myself ogling expensive, quality guitars online. I would like to sample those beauties in guitar stores too, but alas, I'm left-handed. A well-equipped guitar store usually has 0-2 lefties shelved (in my country, that is), and they are never those top-of-the-line ones that people ACTUALLY need to play before buying 'em. Of course trying a righty gives you a clue, but not the actual feel.
For this reason, I've postponed buying a quality instrument for years. But I still want one really really bad all the time! You know, a workhorse, the old reliable, The One. Actually, I've always been interested in THE Workhorse, a Gibson J-45. It's available as a leftie. Never seen one live. I think I've never seen any top-notch lefties live.
So the only possible way to get one is to order one online? I guess most of the online stores have a return policy that would allow one to order, try it and send back if it doesn't fit your playing style.
Is this how lefties usually do it?
