This is non Traditional Third position Chromatic piece.
I wrote, orchestrated and recorded this sitting at my desk.

See you all at SPAH. I'll be giving a workshop Theory/Harmony for Scardy Cats on Wednesday Morning.

Enjoyed this piece very much. And, it's amazing what you can do sitting at your desk these days.

That sounds very nice. What are your thoughts on Bebop tuning for someone learning. The "double C's" drive me crazy.

The Triple Cs and double Fs all have different uses.
Don't even know Bebop tuning is.

Lovely stuff Diggs. I enjoyed that a lot.

Ray - I'm learning to move away from just playing blues in third on the chromatic. One thing I've sometimes found helpful with the double C's is to use the lower of the two going up the harp and the higher one coming back down. I find it can make some of the transitions easier.

Personally I'd avoid things like altered tunings until you've got a firm handle on playing standard tuned chromatics. That's just my viewpoint on it. No doubt some of the more accomplished chromatic players will have more to say on the matter.

The B# and E# are useful and need to be understood how they function. That's why I say the three Cs and two Fx
Some chromatic players even play the C scale using them because they feel it is more of a legato feel.

@Ray I think the diminished tuning would drive me nuts.
I already play all of the diminished scales on my chrom and read using a standard tuning. To relearn all the scales and chord arpeggios again is not worth it to me
and I'm sure of the advantage.

Thanks for your input Diggs and Kingley. Much appreciated.
Diggs, as accomplished as you are on chromatic and the years you have invested in it I can understand that any altered tuning would be nuts for you to do.

I dig the atmospherics of this and it would sound awesome for a track in a movie. The subtle amount of reverb makes it very haunting. Everything here is really more subtle rather than in your face.

Thanks Bob. You got the feeling I was going for the haunting sound of the Min6 Chord.

My friend Buddy Rizzo who works in the LA studio scene he
thought it was a haunting melody.
