Just saw this video of one of our local heros - 3rd place overall at last year's IBC. Here are Paula Harris and the Beasts of the Blues at the Monterey Blues Festival. I'm proud to say all the musicians are friends and I've had the honor and privilege of playing with them. But what's really cool here is not only Paula's outstanding performance, but the COMPLETE support of the singer by the band - with no overplaying by anyone, and lots of space. Every one of those guys up there can RIP, trust me. A great example of how to pull off a slow blues.....

That's some very nice stuff. Jazz feel, but as blues as it gets.

These guys are playin' like jazz pros.
I've seen this type of playing a lot when IAJE was happening.
