I refuse to buy another soldering iron. Anyone have any experience with the low heat soldering paste? Can anyone recommend a brand?

I don't know what you intend to fix with it..... but if its wiring, save the trouble and get yourself a decent soldering iron. Poor soldering tends to cause people to leave the heat on way too long and that's what ruins elements.
For me it is worth it to have a really good one. Here is what I use:

Heats up in 30 seconds - very precise temperature control.

Dammit - I thought they had finally invented something better.
I have a PA amp, and I need to attach a 1/4" plug to some decent speaker wiring. Want to connect my speaker cab to the PA amp.

That should not be a big job. Tin the wires first and get your heat right to make the solder liquid. ---------- http://www.reverbnation.com/jawboneandjolene

@jbone Thanks for the tip. I always heard you heat the wires (or copper pipes) before applying the solder, but I was never quite sure how that worked. Did a quick search for "tin the wires" and found some tutorials. When I was a kid using a soldering iron, I would only melt the solder onto the wires.
Is the solder paste good for anything? Seemed sketchy ---------- Duke Berryman - Chicago blues, harmonica, guitar
