As a harp player I always wanna play 24hrs a day. Sometimes it is very hard to get my guitar players motivated to just play some old blues and work on stuff with me so not only can I get better at the instrument but they can. I have never used backing tracks before until I found this guy name Mark Mumea. Here is a link. Listen to the guy on youtube and with the elgins. He knows just what he is doing. He plays behind the beat like most backing tracks never do or let you do. These tracks are killer practice for someone who wants the chicago sound and wants to practice those chops before getting on stage with them. At least take a listen to them and give it a shot.

There is not. He just started doing these and he said he is still working on the way to do that. It is mostly two guitar tracks. The tones of the guitars are perfect and the tracks are same length as the song. Here are some links to other jammin along with the tracks. They rock if you ask me. They help with your singing to as they are same length so you can really work up the tunes before you play them at jams!! Keep in mind they sound way better in person some of the cats on YT used computer mics to record them so itll make them sound weird. Very pro tracks and not overwhelming etc..

Bigtone, I'll check them out.

"Sittin in with the Greats" is probably my favorite for real Chicago Blues. Each song is played twice, once with vocals and once without.
There are no lead instruments and each song has two 12 or 24 Bar slots to solo. This is the only one I've found with classic CB's vocals in the jam tracks.

I recently pick'd up "Every Groove a Bluesman needs It's a two disc set made by Jimi Lee's band and it's as good as it gets!

Another great series is "The Ultimate Blues Jam", there's three in the series, real blues bands playing real CB's with the key to each song.

Yeah that is good stuff man. The reason I lake Mark's is because they are timed right and very simple so you can focus on what you are doing, which is the most important for learning the most you can. Thanks for the headsup I will check those ones you listed out/

Yeah man he is awesome!! We need to support our fellow blues cats, especially if they work this hard to sound this good. This guy his helping the blues sound and scene and I purchased his tracks. Not only as a learning tool but to hopefully fund some more for him to make etc... what goes around comes around

Mark Mumea is a great player in the 50's Chicago Style. Here's a preview of his Little Walter Backing Tracks.

The Shoblues backing tracks are excellent, so are the Mark Mumea backing tracks. Either are ideal for anyone looking for classic Chicago blues backing tracks for harp.

Does anyone know if there's a way to just buy the individual Shoblues tracks? I don't want a full album with keys I don't use or tracks I don't really want either. The site is a bit of a maze. One time you were able to listen to snippets but I can't see that feature anymore.
