Just for fun I got the Dano Honeytone and bottle o blues mic. I'm still a raw noob and not really expecting to do anything but have fun.
I have a friend who plays guitar and thought we'd mess around together.
I've heard good things about them (for the price)...

That Bottle 'O Blues is not a bad mic to learn with, certainly worth the investment (see my recent post Bottle 'O Blues to the rescue). Mine cost around $50 a few years back, and I hadn't used it for years, but it came through in the clutch, better than the Shaker MadDog.

I agree. About the Honeytone that is. For 20 bucks I'd say it's a hell of a little amp, capable of busking even, where volume has to be limited anyway, at least in my neck of the woods. I use mine with a little eggstatic mic that has its own volume control(another 25 bucks), just for messin' around at home. I'm not even close to being an audiophile/amp connoisseur/mic care-about-er. For me, my next super upgrade will likely be a Vox Mini 3, which I probably will use in public, also with that eggstatic mic. Enjoy.

@harp-er....I had one of those Eggstatic mics at one time, too. I liked the BOB for learning because it approximates the size of a bullet mic so you can work on your cupping technique.

Hey Woodeye, yes, it's a good little mic for probably whatever I'll ever use it for. If I ever go pro (never), I'll think about a Greg H super duper maple swirl polished wood bullet mic. Or maybe I'll do what Jason does and use a stick mic instead. I never have tried the BOB mic, but I've read some good things about it, including your take on it.
