A week or so back someone (I think it was Rosie) said no matter how hard they tried, they couldn't sound bluesy. I saw this video and clicked to see what it was all about. I think for a new harmonica player the last ten or so minutes about playing blues is really what you need to see. There's a very simple tune that he walks you through which sounds really very good. I wish I'd seen this in the earlier days of my playing. It would have encouraged me to persevere with a lot more enthusiasm.

Just checked it was Rosey56 who was exasperated.

Go to 35:23 to hear the complete short tune.

Despite the sunglasses, his playing is not that impressive.

@Martin, @Reed Triller. I think you miss the point. I put this up because Rosey was having trouble and she was new to the harp. Rather than get completely dissatisfied and give up at an early stage, if this helps her sound a little more bluesey then it may give sufficient encouragement to carry on and dig deeper.

Although Jason's Ronnie's and Adam's how-to's are worth their weight in gold, they can still be intimidating to a complete novice. This video may help some people to get on the right track and then persevere to the next level.

Nice beginner vid. Explained some things that we take for granted like the 1, 4,5 and where they live on the harp. He had a good simple explanation of bending too.
I think we often lose sight of the fact that beginners have different goals and just want to be competent
I even enjoyed playing to his cheesey blues backing track and the call and response to his licks.

@Martin. No need to apologise. I'm the same. Do it all the time :)
