I think you've explained something at long last but I need to watch again to make doubly sure. So that's why its called the blue third (-3*). Thankyou.

You are SO close. 3-* is the flat third, when played perfectly on pitch as Bb in the key of G. 3- is the major third, B. The blue third is any sound higher than the perfect Bb or 3b and lower than the perfect B or 3. It is a sound range that cannot be located on the keyboard.
