When I first started playing harp I learned this song on what I think was an 8 hole chrometta. You could play it like a 2nd position but it had that chromatic tone to the harp and a button. I went a got a 12 hole one the other day in C which would be the 2nd position harp for this tune and it does not work. Can someone help me with which harp I need. There used to be a killer video of bharath playing it one 2nd kim wilson style but then switches to the other harp halfway and plays LW. HELP!! And if you have one for sale let me know

The song is in G and he is using a diatonic in C. Lots of tongue blocked chords though!

For sure what Albey says-he never used a chrometta on that tune.

I love Kim's version from his "my blues" cd, he does it on a C harp...his phrasing is exquisite...I think Bharath switches from a small harp to a Koch in that superb vid of him playing it in a carousel type setting. Walters using a Koch in his Masterful version...

Awesome yeah the song is 100% not a standard harp that is a fact you can easily hear it in the tone and the sound of that. And you cannot copy it in anyway on a normal harp. Thanks FRANK

LW is actually using a Koch Chromatic with the slide pressed in, so he's actually playing in Ab.

What Barbecue said.

You can hear Walter playing slide dips - he lets the slide out to dip the note -or chord - down a semitone, and then presses it back in to bring the note back up to pitch.

By the way, you can still get Koch harps. However, Hohner now lists them among the diatonics instead of among the chromatics.

One of the least airtight harps ever made-but it worked for Walter!
