I am considering attending their seminar in Campbel, CA in September, and I'm wondering what level player one should be in order to benefit fully from these great teachers. I am barely an intermediate player, and I must admit that Mr. Gussow intimidates me a little bit.

I'm in the same situation you are, John. I've been playing since November, and I have been focusing mostly on fundamentals (clear single notes, bending, etc). Gussow is coming to my backyard in two months and I really don't know if I'm good enough to go.
Part of me thinks that I should go because it's such an opportunity. How often does the guy get over to the West Coast?
Another part of me is so worried about being out of my league. The most intimidating part is the last section of the workshop where participants will showcase their stuff for the presenters to give personal feedback.

Just got blown away at the price. There are a certain other pair who do something similar but charge several hundred. ---------- "Bend it like Ricci" - Me

I went last year. From what I experienced, there were all levels. If I recall correctly there was a lady present that had only been playing 2 weeks. In my opinion, no matter what level you are you can pick up -something- useful. I figured if I gleaned just one nugget from the seminar it was worth it. I came away with a few nuggets.
There was a chance for anyone to get up and jam along to a jam track for 12 bars, and Adam and Ronnie would give you a quick critique on the spot, it was great! Probably the only portion of the program were beginners didn't feel comfortable getting up there. (but they were certainly welcome.)
A very supportive group. Each table would talk blues harp, stories, learning ideas/resources, licks etc. at breaks and during lunch.
The concert afterwords? AWESOME! Aki Kumar was there last year, not sure if he will be there this year but to be able to listen to Adam, Ronnie & Aki play was worth the trip alone.

John95683, you will be fine. Ronnie has conducted seminars for the Mile High Blues Society here in Denver and newer players get a lot out of the sessions. Ronnie will take good care of you, don't worry.

As far as I know, it is. It has to be, because we don't have any sort of buyout arrangement with the club.
Please email Ronnie and ask for clarification: ronnieshellist at gmail dot com

I've always been pleasantly surprised at how inexpensive Ronnie's seminars are/were. I wish he'd do one every month.
To anyone considering going, my advice is GO. You'll get a lot out of it, and you'll be glad you went. It's all about learning, and the comraderie of hanging with a bunch of folks who understand your obsession with the tin sandwich.
Doesn't matter what your level of expertise is or isn't.

Chris- Ronnie Shellist and the Mile High Blues Society will be presenting two harp seminars this fall. One of the seminars will be focused on amps and amped tone. I'll publish details in the Blues Insider newsletter in the next few weeks. I hope you can attend.

The show at Little Lou's is indeed open to the public. I will double check just to be sure, and if for any reason I'm wrong, I'll post a notice here in the thread and at the website: http://gussowshellistworkshops.weebly.com/
Also, to those concerned about not being advanced enough to attend, I would encourage you to attend no matter what your current level is.You will certainly learn something at the workshop.
One more thing. The jam session is optional. You do not have to play in front of the group and receive feedback from Adam and I during the feedback portion of the workshop. I do recommend it, but you some folks choose to just observe. Hope to see you guys out there! Let me know if you have any other questions. ---------- Ronnie Shellist www.Harmonica123.com www.RonnieShellist.com
