I am playing a gig in Chicago on the 24th and doing other dates with another band until then. I am wondering where the jams are and what cool music shops I should go to. I will be at Reggies with my full band on the 24th if anyone is interested in swinging by.

Its worth it to stop by the Monday group lesson given by Joe Filisko at the Old Town School of Folk Music. I haven't done it in years, but Joe is very welcoming of guests. Just buy him a beer after the lesson. (And if things have changed, and I'm talking out of turn, please correct me.)

Buddy Guy's Legends! Apparently Mr. Guy himself hangs out there often. I had a buddy who went there to play the open mic, and Buddy Guy happened to be hanging out by the bar. He came on the stage and dropped a few lines, while my friend kept playing. I never felt so jealous!
