Great stuff! I just subscribed so I can get to studying. Yeah, you nailed it, I pretty much just jumped on the bike, so this basic stuff I need to learn.
I did the simple breathing on and out as he suggested in the first vid every day for about 10 days. Really helped me hear the notes better. The reeds seem more spring-y somehow. Anyone else find this?
Thanks again Mr. Oxharp. I really enjoy your style of teaching. Now let me find some time to practice what you've taught. Looking forward to your next video. These will be bookmarked for reference, of course.
Later today I intend to actually get a harp into my mouth and pickup from your second video, then on to the third one.
As for the length of the lessons, so far this format is working for me. I'll be sure to comment again if that changes once I get to the playing piece.
Thanks again, Lee.
Ah, so I just tried the second video technique. Well, while it's quite simple in principle, as you say, getting the breath to go in the right direction without having to think about it is, I can already see, going to take a bit of practice. And getting the tongue and throat articulation to go along with the unthinking breath just adds an element to get into memory. I'm gonna leave off video three for a while and teach my breathing to do what I want it to do.
