Been trying to nail the crystal effect beginning at 2:55 of this tune:

After years I am finally getting close:

The real effect exists on an Eventide rack and pedal. It would run $500 minimum to get one! It is two reverse pitch shift delays with reverb.

Sounds pretty close.

If you hadn't provided the example track in your post, I still would have been able to tell you were going for that JP effect.

Thanks, ridge. I think it is pretty close. The first riff is leached right from a live recording where I heard the effect (it starts on 6 draw in third, but resolves on 2 draw in cross to follow the song's harmony). I think the only thing really missing is a longer decay of the pitch delay. I think I can fake that via reverb decay.

I'd have it down 10-20% lower in the mix than the above clip live.
