Yes, friends, I am finally selling the Gussow bluesmobile. There's a guy in town who has been insisting that he wants to buy it, but he keeps breaking appointments and making excuses. So I am starting to put out feelers.
This car arguably has historical value of a certain limited sort: it's the venue in which I've recorded about 200 of my YouTube instructional videos.
It's a 1992 Honda Accord LX. It has 376,000 miles on the odometer. It is a three-owner car. I purchased it in 2002 from a guy in New York. It had 140,000 miles on it at that point. I've put 236,000 miles on it. I have changed the oil regularly. It's running great. I put in a new transmission (5-speed manual) and clutch about a year ago. It has a fairly new air conditioning system, alternator, water pump, radiator. It has a Thermal exhaust system and sounds like a barn burner, with a deep throaty roar. It will drive all day at 70.
It has new chrome rims (about a 18 months old) and brand-new tail lights. It's in very good working order and has just been tuned up.
Of course is has candy apple blue paint. It is a car that still turns heads.
It has a new CD player/receiver.
The one significant debit is that the paint on the hood has peeled rather badly.
If I were keeping it, I would get that fixed. I would also have a new timing belt put in, and I'd get new tires at some point in the next six months. That's about it.
It feels, drives, and sounds like a sportscar. The front seat is pretty good for making videos, too. But I have a new car--a Lexus--and after ten years of fun, it's time to give somebody else a chance.
The price: $1500 firm. You'll have to pick it up at my house in Oxford, Mississippi. Cash only.

376000 miles! That's almost 16 times around the world. Jeez I thought that only Taxis that are never turned off ever got that sort of mileage. A Lexus?Beautiful car but not exactly a Bluesmobile,i would of thought that in the States you could of picked up a nice '57 Chevvy for the same money?
Hey just razzin' Good luck with the sale.

I drive my cars till their worthless and either sell them to a college kid for $500 bucks or take it to a local junk yard that will weigh your car give you cash for it and then turn it into a block of rubbish :) Adam- Your car looks like it would sell up here in South Western PA for that price easily...
If I was in the market I'd be honored to own your former ride Adam! We had an '86 Accord that took us many places, even through a foot of water in a flooded Clarksdale about 5 years ago. Those cars are a great cross between work horse and hot rod. Even with the automatic it had a sport shift mode and I had some fun with it since it was my work car! We didn't get as good a mileage out of it- I think the drive through the flood waters shortened the tranny's life- but the kid we sold it to- as is, stuck in 2nd gear- got several months' use out of it before the tranny went all the way out. I hope the car goes to someone who will appreciate what they are getting. ---------- http://www.reverbnation.com/jawboneandjolene
I remember jackrabbit, I followed you through the hills of Brown County on the way to the lodge. It looks better now, except for the hood. I asked you why you named it that, but I don't remember what you said. So is the Lexus Jackrabbit2?

Why not donate it to the Delta Blues Museum in Clarksdale? You can take still it out for a spin if you get homesick for a five on the floor..... ---------- Skinny Dog
Sold! The YouTube bluesmobile has vanished into the sunset. The woman who bought it lives on Anderson Road in Oxford, Mississippi. $1300 cash. I hate to see you go, but I love to watch you drive away. My (former) car, I mean.

At every crossroads in Mississipi the lights will dim and the engine will hesitate...the radio will briefly play a 3 draw bend, the exhaust will fart and the Bluesmobile will have its revenge.
I remember that car. It's been up to Chicago and back more than a few times. Solid car, and fits a lot of gear. At least you may see it tooling around town for awhile.

Our '86 model sure took us places with all the gear we had- several amps, 2 guitars, p.a. harps, clothes and stuff, for long weekends in the delta. Hard to beat an old Honda. ---------- http://www.reverbnation.com/jawboneandjolene
