When I heard the harp backing at the start I thought I knew...then the harp solo at 2:05 put doubt in my mind....the answer/call with the guitar at 4:18 and I just gave up.

Hmmm Theo-if that's what the liner notes say I won't refute them but it sounds a whole lot like Moon Cat. I've even seen the two share gigs together twice. Maybe there were contract issues and he couldn't take credit?

It was me I had a very good time working with Ana as always but this was the first recording we did together and getting to work with John Porter twice in one lifetime was of course an honor! Thanks for the post harp dude.

Moon Cat at 4:28 you do some sort of growl/trill or something. Would you mind sharing this technique?

That was a cool tune, love Ana - her and Jason are a match made in heaven! Jason popped out as the harp player during a 1/2 second of listening for me :) Sounds like the 4:28 is an out of tune octave or Jason deliberately bent one or both of the notes in the octave to create the dissonance?...

Sounds like a 6/9 draw octave split to add on to what Frank said. The 6 is pulled down slightly to give it that awesome beating sound.

It also sounds like a harp key is switched out at about 2:16 for about 3 seconds.

Disclaimer: It's 7:20 a.m. EST on a Monday and I have no harps on me and I haven't eaten anything yet. Also, it's slightly foggy out.

Its funny you mentioned this because last week i believe when frank had a post on recognizable styles this tune came to mind.I was working on a job painting(my trade)a few months back and I always, if I have the opportunity put the Music choice blues channel on and lo and behold this tune came on.I heard the harp on it and knew it was JR.Great cut and nice combination.I really dig Ana,s playing and her story as well.BTW I also dig JR,s playing also,Simply Smokin.

yeah thats an out of tune octave at 4:28 and YES Dan (Holy Crap good ear) That is a lightning quick edit at 2:16 to a third position riff. John Porter love to cut and paste but who the hell am I to ask questions.

Sorry, this is why I don't post more because I end up having to go back on something I boldly state.

I said it was a 6/9 octave split - that doesn't even make sense. It's a 4/8 split to a 5/9 split and then alternated a few times.

Thanks for the props mooncat. It just goes to show, if I make enough statements one of them is bound to turn out correct!
