All,

So i picked up a BBE Sonic Maximizer pedal this evening. I'm planning on testing it out tomorrow with my rig, but had a question:

I know a few of you use the pedal.... where do you put it in your pedal chain?

I plan on moving it around, trying all the various positions within my effects chain, but was curious as to where everyone else has it.

Thanks!

I put mine last. Jason describes it best. Makes your tone "high-def". Enjoy!

Like Moose said always goes last no matter what. Think of it as a last chance EQ beyond your understanding for High and low frequencies within your understanding. Like Dude said it's like hearing your tone in High-Def.. Perfect last addition to any signal, be it a recording at large, guitar, harp, stereo system etc...I was the first cat to find and use this pedal (on Harp) as far as I know, I was endorsed by BBE at the time and no longer am so I would hope me singing the praises of this box comes off in a true helpful manner to Pockets. Thanks! I'll try it out as the last pedal in my chain, first thing when i get home then.

I bought the older version of the pedal.... but I did see that they sell a newer "candy apple red" colored pedal (and the script front is now different).

I didn't buy the newer looking one, as I was not sure if they changed any of the internals for the newer model or not. I wasn't sure... so i didnt take a chance.

Everyone knows that red makes it go faster! ;)

Love mine(even if it's the old slow whitish gray one).
Takes your sound from 2 dimensions to 3 dimensions (or more!)

We need a pedal lending library!!
(maybe I'm not kidding...)

Edited: I was about to say I would walk the talk by making my Lone Wolf Harp Attack available to anyone who pays shipping both ways and promises to send it back in a week -- then I relaized you can get a better deal from Randy!-- because of his 60-day return policy!

And I've recently sold some of the pedals that I would have make available for this (and just told a member here that I would hold the Boss "Fender Bassman" pedal for him).

Hmm... I'll go home later and see what I have...

I've been using the Sonic Stomp for a few years, really like it. I use it sparingly, and it is always last in the pedal chain.

I use only four pedals: AFB+, Boss EQ7, MXR analog delay, and the Sonic Stomp.

Sonic stomp is one of the best things that ever happened to me.

If I had to only have one pedal it might not be it but I consider it along with a kinder and an mxr carbon copy to be my bread and butter tonally.

The lonewolf octave and break and even the tone + are indispensible.

I credit Jason with the sonic stomp and tone +. I had a sonic maximizer in my guitar rig as a rack unit for ages but never considered it for harp. As to the tone I got it in a deal with other stuff and thought it was kind of meh. It made a crap amp sound passable when used the way most use it. But Jason gave me the idea to use it as a treble/fat boost. It is actually almost used like I use an eq pedal for guitar. I don't use it to eq but it makes a kicking frequency selective overdrive.

Jason really has had a huge impact on my playing despite my not playing at all like him.

Right now my fun harp pedals are a redwitch medusa and moonphaser.

Thank you Will, not to join the mutual admiration society but just to say I always do enjoy, respect and read your thoughts and words on all this stuff as well. I like your style as well.

Can you use a BBE Sonic Maximizer as your ONLY pedal between mic and tube amp?

dted, sure. I've done that and it sounds good, especially if you need more cut or definition.
