I am in the process of getting my hands on Marine Bands from as many different time periods as I can in order to study them for: set up, response, characteristic sound, and tuning of course.
The tech. And historical aspect of harmonica is of great interest to me and I would like to hear from you guys about your experience with them, and also what specific suggestions you might have for me to look into to discover what changes have taken place and when. Maybe even some stories regarding why some of these changes have taken place.
I've got an M.B. from around 1905, one from the mid thirties, several Hicksville era harps, several recent ones, unsealed comb and the more recent sealed comb.
I am familiar with the M.B. field spotters guide, and have read Pat Missin's stuff on the subject, lots of good info.
