Both amps sold very fast, I kept the best one of the three. Might be building a few more. Thanks for the intrest. Two very happy new owners. The VHT 6 head with the two 10 cab sold for $500 the combo sold for $300.

Hi bluz, I must have missed the thread. Alnico modded VHT6 amps? Vht6 modified with one of alnicomagnet mod kits?

Yes, I did some experimenting, bought two combos and one VHT 6 head, all off ebay, all at around $200 or less. All three had the mod kits from Nigel, and came out great. The one I kept has the Hemp Little Buddy speaker. The Head with the two 10" speakers went to St. Louis, the other combo went to a local harp God who gigs every weekend. Everyone very pleased with the rigs. The line out feature works great. The more I play mine the better it sounds as the speaker is breaking in. Just purchased another combo for $200 with shipping, not sure what the plan is for this one yet.

Yeah cool. I used his mod kit in my "Epi Vj" head recently. Matched with a pair of weber 8" alnico speakers I'm very happy with it.
Not least, I was happy with his instructions and communication. Thinking of modifying my mk3 combo for guitar in line with his "fender tweed" voicing ideas.
Got the bug, at least mildly!

Sorely tempted by the VHT6. I'm in the U.K. and they are £135.00 from Thomann new with 3 yr warranty.
I still have the little Harley Benton GA5 (epi jnr.clone)
that has the Fender Bownface Tone control from nigel at Alnicomagnetic which has been a great little amp.

Wheezer, Where in the UK are you. I have a VHT6 with the Alnico Mod and a Eminence Lil Buddy Speaker. Your welcome to try it if you are ever in Staffordshire.
