Have you owned or played through a Crate Taxi? I recently picked one up used. The input is uncommonly and extremely sensitive regardless of the source (I've tried several different mics, both direct and through an RP250, also electric guitar). With the volume control just a slight notch above zero it's quite loud. I can control it with an external volume control on the mic, or via the RP250, but otherwise it's just too loud to be useful for low-volume playing. If you've owned or used one, did you find this to be typical of that amp?

I'm also interested in this question--I've been considering a TX15 Crate for busking this summer--it has a channel for mic and one for guitar--which would mean I don't have to pack around a mixer.

I don't really need real state-of-the art harp mic--I just play acoustically with a rack and use the same mic for voice and harp. . .

I have one and use it all the time. I use a Shure PE48 or sm545 on low z with it. It does not do well with HiZ mics. Sounds great with low z after rolling off the treble.

My old busking guitar man had a Crate Limo which we both played through. Sounded great and lots of oomph (I think that's the correct technical term). We never played at low volume so sorry I didn't answer your OP.
Now for my little slightly off-topic whinge.
I ordered a Crate Limo (from here in Oz) through the local official distributor. It never turned up. The retailer eventually said (after a few months) they couldn't give me a delivery time etc., I just had to wait and see, and it would be delivered when stock was available, blah blah.
But my patience had worn out so I got me a Roland instead.
Good luck!

@Goldbrick: I don't notice much difference between high & low impedance mics, the input is extremely sensitive regardless. Both types sound ok, it's just too loud right out of the gate.
