Looking for an example of big fat juicy tone from a custom overblow player.

I find this pretty subdued considering...

How do you customize a player?

I'm pretty sure Carlos has had very little, if any, customization. He sure looks out-of-the-box to me!

Carlos tweaks ALL his harps. He learned to customize his own harps from Joe Filisko. How do I know this? Carlos has stated as such and also shared that info in his linear notes.

You can also see on the cover of Blues Mongrel he has after market combs (at that time from Earl the Pearl) and goes as far as to vent some of his cover plates.

As an aside, Dennis Gruenling plays overblows and he uses Filikso/Sleigh harps. I'd say his tone is pretty massive.

Same with Jason Ricci.

Richard Sleigh

Joe Filisko

Then there are the dozen of pros using custom harps, like Kim Wilson, who don't overbend, but still appreciate a pro-level harp.

None of these players have been customized, as far as I know.

If you were to customize one of them, what parts would you change? Giant hands? Forked tongues? Extra lungs?

Or maybe we need DNA splicing? Jacobs + Toots + Horton + Levy = custom player of the future.
