The amp does sound good with the swapped valves. Having played through both though I still prefer the Fender Pro Jr for harp personally.

I put a Weber in mine, swapped out the tubes....it sounds great.

I love the tone of this amp, it just... don't have the balls to compete with a full band in a large room. The fantastic tone seems to get lost in the mix, so I switched it for a Hot Rod Deluxe. Now, some people disrespect this amp, but I dig it, it gives me the power I need, and now I have no feedback problems. Anyhow, that's for a different story. I switched V1 in my BJ for 12AUX, which I think definitely made it sound better. I also found it gave me a raw crunchyness I don't get as much with the Hot Rod.
