Tonight I took the new small Mission amp to the Blues Jam at Ziggies hosted by Doc Brown's Band. He put me up in a loud set with two strong guitar players: Jimmy Seville from Mojoville and John Weeks from Cedar Avenue Blues Band.
My main goal for the night was to test the line out on the amp. I had about 7 or 8 minutes between sets to get my gear set up. I put the Mission amp on a chair and connected a regular guitar cable from the line out jack on the amp to a line in jack on one of the PA channels. I set the channel trim and volume to half way -- straight up -- which is always a good place to start. I set the channel monitor send to zero and EQ'ed everything flat.
I set the volume on the amp to half way and the tone to a little less. No pedals or effects. I plugged in my mic and was ready to go with time to spare.
The line out puts out about 600 mv at this setting.
It sounded great just like that! I got lots of enthusiastic compliments on the sound. Good coverage of the room and nice textured tone through the house PA system. I could hear the amp as a monitor. It all worked very well.
