I can probably find the interstate battery locally (they are made here!) The Letrosonic site doesn't give a product number, sure these work with the CH40 charger? I'm assuming my batteries are dead. Started sounding funny a couple of months ago (last time I tried it) Dead now, charger blinks once when I connect charger but light goes off.

I replaced mine recently. The original batteries were made by Panasonic, but there are multiple batteries which will do the job. 6 volt, lead acid gel, roughly 4 amp hour. there is a fair bit of wriggle room to accomodate some small differences in size and shape. The originals were 4 amp hour. I replaced mine with the closest thing I could find, a 4.5 amp hour battery. Cost me about $35 at battery world. You can probably do better in terms of $, I just wanted to see the item so I bought it off the shelf.
Pretty easy to install. Mine were soldered but I installed clips on the leads for the new ones. They're connected in series. Be careful not to accidentally short-circuit as you make the connections

Thanks, I'll take it apart tomorrow to get the dimensions. Found some good deals online, even free shipping.
