I've been learning from various YouTube videos, but I feel that lessons from an accomplished teacher are a vital part of the learning process for some people. Any thoughts on this...Also, does anyone know where to find reputable instructors in the St. Louis area?
Thanks

I've seen of his stuff online, and he is definitely a talented player!
I actually sent him an email a few weeks ago, but never heard back...I'll try to contact him again this week.
Thanks for the suggestion!

I always say...and I'll say again...there is no substitute for individual personal instruction. I have found it to be a great investment. The instructor can evaluate your playing and give you goals to pursue. I've had all my lessons through Skype, but is there is a competent player/instructor within driving distance of you, that would be great.

I heartily recommend Sandy, but if he doesn't get with you, I teach by skype. Check my website for information and testimonials. michaelrubinharmonica.com

68- michael rubin has over 80 good tutorials on youtube that will, i assume, give you a good idea on his teaching style, though, i believe, he easily adapts to what the student needs.
also- SPAH is going to be in st. louis this august. there will be a hosting harmonica club. you should be able to find someone who can give you lessons. (heck- sandy will probably be there!) google SPAH, find the hosting club, get a contact number and inquire about a teacher if you dont/cant wait till the convention in august.
remember- just because you get a lesson or 2 from someone does not mean you are committed to only taking lessons from him. you may need to go thru several teachers to find one that you like.
and check out the Bean Blossom Blues Fest for another, nearby, harmonica get-together!

Thanks for the great suggestions eharp...I'll check of those events this year.
BTW, I heard back from Sandy yesterday...sounds like I need to wait for a slot to open up before I can take a lesson. I guess that's just a reflexion of how good he is as a teacher.
