I plead...ignorance..obsessive compulsive behavior...and a little "got to have it now before someone else gets it" action.
Hindsight is 20/20...but maybe not. A healthy non disclosure of what type element it has, may not be an accident.

perhaps some of you have seen it, too.
It was up for only an hour and a half. Looks too good to be true, eh?
I'm hoping they're cleaning house of old stuff that ain't moving fast enough...or over priced. If it's a shitty element, do I have a right to ask for a refund?

ya ya ya...I should have asked before clicking the BIN!
...but that's where the OCD kicked in, rendering me spineless,...and eeeasy pickins.
There's still a glimmer of hope. Is my Karma gooooood, or BAAAAAD!

Haha, yeah I'm guilty of a few OCD purchases myself. Som good, some not so good.
If you're lucky, it will be a score. One of my ebay OCD purchases I scored a Shure brown bullet. The ebay auction that stated "not sure if it works, I have no way of testing..." (Yeah, right) I just assume it's dead. But for about $100 and some change I figured wtf and I got it. There's always ebays buyer protection to fall back on if needed.

When I got it, the shell was in good to very good condition so what the heck, I could always stuff another element in it.

When I plugged it in to my amp, nothing. Dead. Oh well. So I put the mic on the floor to unplug the jack and all of a sudden buzzz, scratch, zzzzzz... squeaaaaaaalll. Picked it up and wiggled the cord a bit and boom! Full sound! Wow, it honks. Hot, hot, hot element. Decided to pop the cover off. Original crystal element. Ran the date code by Greg H. Said it was 1940's. I confirmed it with greenbuletmics.com.

It's bitter sweet though, it sounds fantastic, but I am afraid to play it and break it. I know, the old crystal must die anyways, so I guess I should play it more.

Go ahead and play the blues if it'll make you happy.

If the seller says it works perfectly and sounds amazing then, assuming he has a good feedback history, it probably is. I usually go by feedback history. If someone has 1,2, or 0 than there might be a question. If the history runs into the hundreds without problem then they are most likely fine.

If not working perfectly. You would have the right to put in a claim under 'not as described". If you simply think it does not "sound amazing' that is a a bit subjective and might be harder to claim.

boo hoo...the output was weak, as expected.
How weak? ...was the million dollar...?
One can always turn up the amp, and grab what little life is left.
Not worth it. I couldn't get a sound until 6.
They were cool about it, though.
My refund is coming.
Cool.
Shucks...oh, how I wanted another one to have for back up.
Glad they gave me my moola back.

I just have to wonder if the solder joints are all solid.
I would check that much before sending it back. One drop of solder....
