I plugged in my board, opened the jam track, and hit record...I am not a super strong tongue blocker, but I tried to do some in the middle part of the harp. Thinking about that made my naturally play more pucker than normal on a tune like this, lol.

Tonally it sounds good Mike. I'd be happy to gig with that rig. My only comments would be to play less notes and leave more space between phrases.. Try to play less busy and let some notes ring out longer. That will give it more feel and create a more pleasing sound for the listener. Try drawing them in rather than playing at them. If you know what I mean.

Thanks. This is a very unpolished performance with lots of clams. I would have stopped after 2 or 3 verses in an actual performance, but this illustrates the tone of the rig well.
I went back and gave it a full listen. While I agree that there is a pattern of AAB phrasing without many long notes, the pauses in phrasing fit the nature of the tune. However, I am sloppy - especially while tongue blocking or switching between embochures. I readily admit to needing to woodshed. I hardly play at all now. Maybe 15min a week other than testing harps. ---------- Mantra Customized Harmonicas My Website
