Was at rehearsal today, and the sound guy says hear, try this. I un plug my 57 and plug in the D2. First off, I love the size of the thing. Then as I get on it, I notice a big difference in the sound from my Micro Cube. We're micing it through the pa, and the cube is doubling as my moniter. Anyways...the D2 has a bassier/fatter sound than my 57.
It was fun to play with. Anyone else here use one of these for harp? If so what do you think of it? ---------- You Tube = goshinjk
I'm workin on it. I'm workin on it.

I use one on my bass drum. I tried it for harp and seemed a little dull. I like a a 57, 545 or pe515 better

I looked up the spec sheet for the Audix D2.
It says it has a low-mid boost to add warmth.
Also has lower "sensitivity" so it probably is not as loud as your SM57.
I use an Electro-voice PL35 drum mic (designed for snare, toms). To me it sounds way better than the Shure mics when cupped for harp. It also is very short and has an bent shape. You can get a brand new one on ebay for $44.
