I bought an old Calrad DM-30 mic via internet a couple of months ago - but when it arrived, the cable was not soldered on. I'm not a solderer myself but I'm told that it's very difficult to solder because the metal casing around the bottom of the mic is long and so you can't see what you're soldering.

In desperation, I bought a Switchcraft 332A mic adapter, thinking I could just screw that on and plug in a guitar lead. But the adapter doesn't fit!

Anyone know the best/easiest way to attach a cable to this mic? Also, are there any opinions out there on the DM-30? I didn't know much about it, but it looked nice...

The DM-30 is a decent mic for harp. When you say the cable wasn't soldered on. Do you mean there was no cable? I presume you have tried looking for a cable on ebay? Try emailing Greg Heumann he can probably help you out.

There was a cable, but it came separately, with the internal wiring showing at one end (with no jack). I'll try Greg Heumann, then. And glad to hear it's a good mic. Thanks.
