I got a video camera out and have learned a lot already. Watching and listening to youself is quite different from just playing. I don't know where this tune came from but I find it fun to play. I hope someone finds it fun to listen to.

I could not figure out how to embed the video. THe FAQ explains how to do it from YouTube but not from a web location like Dropbox. Right now you would have to copy the link and paste it into you browser to get to it.

If anyone can tell me, or point me to instructions on how to embed this properly I would appreciate it.

This forum is so bloody ancient, grrrr. So much easier to do these things in HTML5 which btw, came out in 2008!!!

Here's also a direct link to the video if this site fails to load this video for you:

With WMVs you need software to them to work they're a bit more software dependent then MP4s or MOVs.

Thanks for the fish Ryan. Now I need to learn to fish!

I think I see the section in the source code that did the trick.

You really shouldn't have to but this is where the majority chooses to hang out, lol.

If I were you I'd start a youtube account, upload your videos to there, and then embed them in the forum from there. Some people may not have software on their computer that can play WMVs (the file type of your video). Youtube takes care of all of that once you upload to them. Just a suggestion, I don't mind if you take it or leave it :) .

The code

<object type="video/x-ms-wmv" data="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/52636345/FunRiff.wmv" width="320" height="260">

<param name="src" value="http://dl.dropbox.com/u/52636345/FunRiff.wmv" />

<param name="autostart" value="true" />

<param name="controller" value="true" />

</object>

Fishing tip #1

Google (or some other lesser search engine) is your friend!

You wanted to know how to put your video in a forum.

What you need is the lingo:
a) Your video is of type: wmv, notice the extension at the end of the URL that you posted in your first post.
b) Putting a video in a forum or webpage is called EMBED.
b) What you need is the web code, HTML, to do it.

So ask Google, "HTML how to embed wmv videos" then you start reading any forum, blog, or code website that looks official. If you don't find answers in the first page or two you are looking for try to tweak what you typed into Google search cause you aren't gonna find it on page 3-9999999999...

Here's what Google shows me for info and I bet you'll find information on OBJECT and PARAM in HTML :)

@Steamrollin Stan,
Thanks for listening. I use tracks to practice with sometimes, both the free ones and one I have purchased off this website.

I feel funny posting or performing something using a recorded back up. I am also working on creating listenable live music without the use of recordings.

Unfortunately, all of the instruments I can play are wind instruments so I can not accompany myself live. I may have to learn a string instrument.

I have a way to go yet. A track would have helped me stay in time, it's funny how there is a tendency to rush the harder parts.
