thanks. one of my "ah hah!" moments when learning was realizing that i could suggest an idea by distilling it down to something i could actually play and still keep up, and that this was better than trying to force it by stretching time. the latter was a bad habit it took a long time to break.
@Garry Yeah Garry that's my approach as well.I'm just not a good enough player to play exact copies of most Harp songs.So i play to my strengths,of which i only have one. Tremelo.From day one on the Harp i had it,it was the only thing that came easy to me.Everything else was just plain hard work. So sometimes,say,during a tricky passage i might just hold a long pulsing tremelo on the 2 draw,slooow fast or whatever.
It has got me out of a few situations and people dig it.I mean most of the audience have never heard the original anyway,at least at our gigs.
I admire people who can play say L/W, or Popper for that matter, note for note but i have just never had the dedication for all the hard work. Hey it's Blues we are allowed to Ad Lib.
