Hello MBH'ers,
I have a Bassman RI that I sent to Kendrick and had them gut it, installing their Texas Crude harp amp in the chassis. Only difference is that the signal goes to the four 10" speakers, and most Texas Crudes come with one speaker.
The amp sounds amazing at 7 or 8 on the volume dial, but I never play that loud even during gigs. In fact, I rarely play out due to work and family constraints.
I was thinking either the Kendrick Decrescendo or the THD Hotplate attentuator would enable me to run the amp at 7 or 8, and have the volume be much lower.
Do any of you have any experience with these products?
Thanks,
Bill

I have a harpgear DT 18watts but loud I use a weber attenuator and think it is great, fab hot valve tone at whisper volume plus with my 5watt champ repro you get a handy di to the pa, couldn't recommend it more

I just got and started to use the weber mini mass with my bassman clone for gig and practice. It works great for just the purpose you said, run the amp at a gig at usable volumes, it breaks up just enough but not so much as a smaller amp. I like the cut and cleaner sound of the bassman... and the 3 tone controls give more control over tone than many of your smaller amps. You also gain a line out from the attenuator.
Now the negatives. I got lazy and purchased the bassman harness set with the attenuator. The amp to attenuator harness was wired tip to ring, and the plug was bad. They offered to replace it after I figured out what was wrong, but it took me a while. Also, the attenuator is has a bit of weight to it, and adds futzing around at gigs, one more dial to turn, more plug ins to go wrong.
