Good stuff, Caldonia is one of my favourite songs to play.
Lois Jordan is an extremely under rated musician in my opinion. A lot of his sax lines translate easily and well to harp. Also check out an awesome version from Pinetop Perkins, off the album Pinetops Boogie Woogie. I don't know who's on harp but its awesome, and could give you lots of ideas for solos and comping.
I think this is the best singing we've seen from you yet.
Louis Jordan is one of the better entertainers of all time...and I don't know if I'm just making this up...? But I remember reading somewhere that Little Walter was a huge Louis Jordan fan, and fashioned a large part of his playing style from Louis Jordan's sax.
Yes by far the best i've seen you post to date. B.J. You and all the rest of the guys seem more relaxed, and sound tighter. Your harp playing and your singing sound better. Good stuff.
Tough Crowd! Tough Room! But I love it. The band is SWINGIN' really, really nice. That's easy to say, but deceptively difficult to accomplish. ---------- /Greg
Very cool to see young dudes doing this wonderful & classic L.J. swing (...my very fav song)! Nice job. ps - another great version is muddy at woodstock with butterfield! ---------- Barry C. ~Band in Boston~
