Well, two of my friends, one of them got the premier and one got the zoo. Both amps are not quite in a good shape, the premier is in better condition but the speaker is pretty much gone, the zoo needs some works in the chassis but it still got the original speaker that still working fine. The quickest way to make at least one of them work would be taking out the speaker from the zoo and put it in premier - I know the premier is 4 ohm and the cts is 8 but it should work well enough. The owner of the zoo is pretty much giving up on it but the question is, does it worth it to donate it's speaker to the premier? Which one would you care to revive first in this situation? and if I were to save both of them I would have to find a 4 ohm speaker for the premier which is quite difficult, do any of you have any suggestions for an 8 ohm speakers that might go well with premier? Thanks,
Puri

I think it makes much more sense to restore both amps. All you need is a speaker and it makes the difference between 1 great amp and 2?
I don't know the Premier very well but the Kalamazoo (properly rebuilt) is one of the best small harp amps on the planet. ---------- /Greg

I agree with Greg. Rebuild both amps and have two great amps.

The CTS speaker is often the first thing folks replace on the Zoo, so I wouldn't put it into the Premier. Not a bad speaker, but there are some better ones out there. I had a pretty modded up Zoo 2, the owner built a new cabinet, rplaced some of the caps, strengthened the chassis and added a bigger transformer. It came to me with a Gibson labelled speaker. I replaced it with a Ceramic speaker out my Sonny Jr. (the upgrade from a Sonny Jr to Super Sonny included a speaker change) It was a good upgrade, Zoo on steriods. More punch, bigger bottom. Another one of those, "Now why did I sell that amp" amps. I agree with Greg, wouldn't cost much to put them both into service.

I have had many Premier 110's and I will tell you they are pretty clean amps. The Zoo will get you the dirt you want but the premier will have more headroom. I have had many 110's I didn't like for harp but were great for guitar. But they did make a couple different models as far as tube lineup so do some research on which one you have in front of you. Premier is a classic amp though.

Thanks for comments guys, none of those amps are mine. I probably could use the zoo if I could restore it but definitely nor the premier. I'm just tryin to help my friends out.
The biggest problem is I'm in Thailand so either reconing or buying new speaker for the premier would be quite a hassle but yeah, Bigtone - I have a feeling that it's not as good harp amp as the zoo plus the schematic is pretty hard to find so I probably will just leave it like that (with eminence 1028) for now and pay more attention to the zoo.
@Greg, actually I believe it's one of your zoos that my friend got. A guy called HD brought it here a couple of years ago (he also bought your wooden mic). It got beaten up pretty badly from ignorance players, at first I thought it's not my amp so it's not my business but now that the owner seems to give up on it I couldn't just let it die and became a bar prop so I asked my friend if I could have a go and try to fix it. He said go ahead so I'll see what I can do, hope it doesn't have any serious issues..

Another thing - is the cts speaker in the zoo a keeper?
