another little soundclip from the radio session.
Early in the Morning
the sound quality really is pretty clippy on this one. wouldnt you know, my delay battery died about 1 second into the first solo...
to me the harp sounds really harsh. it didnt sound that harsh to me in the room, but i am using a LW Octave to get some breakup on the amp because i was running it at quite minimal volume...a first for me, especially with a 5w amp (epi vj)..and maybe i've got a little too much effect on it. but its probably mainly my playing all those double stops...overdoing that i think.. and yeah it took me 25 seconds to switch the delay off once it started to oscillate, but it seemed like minutes
anyway, i'm kinda happy with the vocal at least, (apart from my unnecessary attempts to channel jw)..but i'd love your feedback if you could spare me the time

Bee, totally subjective, I like it! Harp could have been a bit louder in places but I have always dug the song and I dig how your vocals are some different than I've heard on it, and the harp attack as well.
Funny how sometimes we don't get what we wanted but we still get great results. It's why I love live music and recording, there are good surprises around every corner! ---------- http://www.reverbnation.com/jawboneandjolene

It sounds really good to me. Both harp and vocals! I think sometimes we are our own biggest critics-Lol
Well done!

Thanks Carl, I appreciate your time. The audience reacted more at the time, to I Wish You Would (posted that clip in another thread) and one guy remarked on how we were not sounding so good at the start. This was the first thing we did. It's better than I'd feared. The second song though, was quite loose when it needed to be tight, so maybe that's what he was talking about.

You made that song your own. I agree with CarlA.

Thank you for listening Orphan. I do love this song, so much. I'm really not sure what it is about it, takes me to a special place sometimes. ----------

I do "I Wish You Would" with Jag and soon the rhythm section as well hopefully. It's a really killer groove. Another one we've been working with it Jimmy Reed's "I Ain't got You", from his Chicago days.
There are times when I myself just can't seem to connect the way I want to, with the partner(s) or the audience, but often times I'm the only one who notices. If I could count the times I've been complimented after a less-thatn-stellar night, or set- at least in my eyes/ears. So my lesson has been that audiences are very subjective. banf mates same way. I need someone who can pull me out of my hypercritic role sometimes and I have to remember what we're doing- we're having a great time and hopefully this joy will leak out and spread itself around! ---------- http://www.reverbnation.com/jawboneandjolene
