this sure pops the lid off the discussion regarding cupping/mics/handtechnique/amps/etc to play a very good sounding blues harmonica.

In a sense, this is how I teach the beginners to approach blues harmonica, getting close to this concept before introducing them to cupping/mics/amps....

NO successful player does. But when they do, mmmmmmmmmmm.
