This is an amazing band, both feet planted in the blues but with a contemporary feel, urban and funky. Robben Ford is a magnificent and individual stylist as a guitarist--he straddles the space between Mike Bloomfield and harder jazz-fusion guys like McLaughlin and Coryell. Brother Mark Ford is equally majestic on harmonica; he is one of the few players who I'd say has a perfect style, the rare and perfect blend of feel, tone control, note selection and phrasing, speed. While many competent players strive to perfect licks and perform them with machine-like precision, Mark Ford has that sound that characterizes Coltrane ,Butterfield, Johnny Winter, a beautifully realized flow that seems effortless. Thanks for posting.

Any idea what gear he's using to get the compression?
His clarity of notes is what I really dig.
And a Special 20...!

I think he uses a now defunct Digitech Valve FX into the SR. I can get a sound a lot like this with a bullet and HarpBreak. In fact, that's the sound I am chasing to a large extent...
